Overview

Otara Kava is a family-owned specialty coffee brand from Ukraine, currently based in Belgium. The brand collaborates with trusted farmers across the globe to source 100% arabica beans — traceable, ethically produced, and environmentally sustainable.

The creative concept is centered on the idea of “Your Spiritual Fauna” — a poetic metaphor that connects the origin of each coffee to local wildlife inhabiting high-altitude regions. Each animal symbolizes a distinct flavor, mood, and geography.

Visually, the identity combines minimalist animal silhouettes with a deep green palette and chromatic highlights, evoking the natural mystery and serenity of wild landscapes. The logo and typography system balance serif and sans-serif elements, reflecting both heritage and modernity.

The design system was implemented across packaging, digital communication, merchandise, and the website — creating a cohesive and emotionally rich brand experience that was recognized with the Red Dot Design Award 2023.
